Overview
This one-day seminar satisfies the seminar option for new judge candidates and counts as continuing education for current judges. You must attend the entire day as a full participant to meet the AKC Scent Work seminar requirements. The seminar will be split between classroom instruction/discussion and hands-on activities. Discussion Topics
▪ Scent theory
▪ General expectations of judges
▪ Picking and planning search areas
▪ General hide placement considerations
▪ Searches by class level, including hide placement, test challenges, and judging the search
Hands-on Learning
Participants acting as Judges and Stewards will break into groups to design searches for preselected classes and difficulty levels. After the demo dog runs the search, the instructor will discuss the search design and hide placement with the group. The presenter will provide their evaluation.

Audit Participation $75
Lunch will be provided.
There will be unlimited spaces for Auditors.
SCVC Members are highly encouraged to audit, especially those interested or currently trialing in AKC Scent Work Trials.
